brand SANTA BREMOR

Structure

Both the head office and production facilities of Santa Impex Brest Ltd. are located in Brest which is one of the Belarusian regional centres (as you can clearly see from the company’s name itself). Please note the unique role of the city of Brest both in economic transformations that are currently taking place in Belarus, and generally in terms of relationships between the East and the West. Here exist better trading opportunities than in any other city in the Republic; in close collaboration with the International Financial Corporation we have developed a privatization model that is currently being implemented countrywide. Both Brest and the Brest Region have great industrial potential and highly qualified human resources. Due to its location on the Belarusian — Polish border the city has multiple unquestionable advantages that set it aside in terms of handling freight traffic from the Western Europe to the CIS countries and back.
The subsidiary of Santa Bremor Ltd. joint venture, has been operating in the “Brest” free economic zone since 1998. It is a state-of-the-art fish processing and ice-cream production complex with 3500 employees.

History

Santa Impex Brest Joint Venture was registered by the Committee for Foreign-Economic Activities of the Republic of Belarus under No. 844 on 04/15/1993 and re-registered by the Ministry of Foreign-Economic Activities of the Republic of Belarus under No. 134 on 10/28/1996 and re-registered by the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs under 134/2 on 09/17/1999.

For the last seven years people of Belarus have been associating the “Santa” brand with fish products. The major lines of activities of Santa Impex Brest, a Belarusian — German joint venture that started to operate in the spring of 1993, include retail trade and wholesales in fish and fish products as well as their processing. Now, one can with full confidence state that this company that employs about 1060 personnel is the leader in the national food industry.

Production

The company has 3000 sq.m of production space: three plants, two of which produce fish products: pickling, smoking and production of filleted herring prepared for use and packed into plastic moulds. The "Santa Bremor” brand applies to over 100 filleted Atlantic and Pacific herring products, including fish pâtés, rolls and hors d'oeuvres. Delicate “MATIAS" filleted herring and “Ikra No. 1” branded capelin caviar made the company well-known and commercially successful.

In June 2000 the Company commissioned its ice-cream production shop. Though the products have not been available in the Belarusian market for a long time, both Belarusian and Russian consumers have taken to them. The area of the ice-cream shop is about 1000 sq.m. The production shops have equipment and machinery produced in Germany, Holland, Italy, Poland and Lithuania.

Another landmark event took place in the fall of 2004, when a new plant for production of red salmon, caviar, seafood and surimi was put into operation. Thus Santa Bremor expanded its mix of tasty and wholesome food products.
The company is capable of quickly reacting to varying demand by promptly offering new products that satisfy the taste and interests of the today’s consumer.
